Our design process starts with you. We balance your vision with advocating for wildlife and great garden design, knowing that when all these things align, they make for happy, thriving breathing spaces.

We'll shape our team around your project, bringing in skills as needed, including specialists and craftspeople - whatever it takes to create a living, breathing, dynamic space that you’ll love and that helps nature to thrive.
Here’s how it works:

  • Using the contact page, tell us what you can about your vision for the space and what you are willing and able to spend. We will make arrangements to meet you and your outdoor space to discuss in more detail.

  • Give us 20-30 minutes of your time and we’ll explore the space, we might throw some initial ideas around, and we’ll gather what we need to start thinking about design and how to make best use of your budget. Don’t hold back with your own ideas! We love working with people who have been daydreaming about this…

  • With an idea of your vision and your budget we’ll begin on design ideas as soon as our schedule allows. Our first designs are top level - we add detail when we know you’re happy with direction and estimated costs.

  • We’ll develop designs and a programme of work based on your feedback. Once approved, we’ll book in a start date, brief any fabrication and get our order in with our trusted nursery partners. If there are other works to co-ordinate with (like other building works etc.) we’ll contact them too, so we’re all aligned. We’ll also invoice materials costs at this stage so we can place orders.

  • We have a small trusty team working on projects. We’ll keep disturbance to a minimum, but it’s good to catch up now and again - we can show you how your breathing space is shaping up. We invoice labour costs on a weekly basis.

  • Over time we have developed partnerships with some great craftspeople and professionals who contribute to the success of our projects. From stonemasons and fabricators to joiners and growers, it takes a community of like-minded people proud of their work to make a garden complete.
