A yard transformed
Like much of Sheffield, this Heeley household had a classic rear yard and when the owners moved in, there was not a lot of life there. Heavy on the broken concrete, it required a total transformation to turn it into the suburban retreat they wanted. Practicalities like shared access to neighbouring homes added to the challenge but ultimately, we achieved a thriving, colourful, private courtyard with sunny sections and lush corners - a detail-led solution for detail-led clients with a clear vision and the commitment to nurture the space.

In full bloom, colour pops and this sunny little garden, really well loved and looked after by its owners, is teeming with life.

The dark baton fencing gives bright foliage a contrasting backdrop.

Custom Coreten asymmetric planters and a small pergola give a home to scented-climbers, which will create a lush, fragrant garden and a sense of enclosure.

The newly fenced garden end creates privacy and a lovely little sun trap.

London Stone supplied the clay pavers which bring a little formality to designs.

Approved - if it's alright with him, it's a win for us, too.

The original side gate made privacy impossible, so we moved access and added fencing.

A not unusual starting point for us - no signs of life but plenty of potential under the concrete.
