OUR GARDENS 3

Contemporary Pergola Garden - Dore

A contemporary design led project with the brief of making the garden seem wider, creating some privacy and to provide two seating areas for use at either end of the day for two extremely busy clients and link the two in an interesting way with trees and planting to provide for wildlife.
The
bottom area was sited to take advantage of the morning sun and is a more private space and the deck nearer the house built for evening sun and entertaining friends.
Larch was used throughout and should weather beautifully in upcoming years.
A great project to work on with lots of detail involved and blessed by perfect weather!

"We had no idea where to start with the design but Chris spent time listening to what we wanted and he and the team have created a garden that we love!"
Ester, S17

The Beer House - Ecclesall

When the chance to convert what was a neglected overgrown storage area into a beer garden for my local came up.. well it was a no brainer!
We had to work within the limitations of a working pub including bin and barrel storage, the occupants of the flat above who have access through the space, some collapsed drains and a bus lane! Standard stuff.
The brief was to make a space that allowed for an optimal number of users while making the space as beautiful yet practical as possible. We've tried to make the garden seem bigger than it is by disguising the boundaries and using mainly evergreen planting. This is an ongoing planting project with regular updating of the planting as we try to utilise every inch of space.

"Once Chris knew we were thinking of a beer garden it was obvious to us, and him, he had to do it! His design allows us the best use of space and is kind of a hidden garden...we love it and so do the customers who have since discovered it." John, Beer House.

Chickenopolis! - Meersbrook

A garden designed entirely around the chickens.. Cog, Wingnut and Roberta [Bob]. The existing oak deck was much loved so it was no problem to design the garden whilst keeping it.

The challenge was to allow the chickens to get to their run via a proposed new seating area. The solution was create a chicken tunnel underneath which really works for the chucks and the family..

We completely re-modelled the existing garden from a multilevel restrictive space to a practical, flat open space with new paving, a seating area, new raised beds. We tried to create as much privacy as possible in the design, whilst allowing as much light as possible into the garden for the new planting scheme.

The new planting has now matured and the transformation, although ongoing, is pleasing.

"Chris gave us everything we asked him for with meticulous attention to detail. I don't think we realised how precious our outside space could be but Chris made it a reality." Jenny, S8.
