An evolving space
This space has been in development over the last decade, when we started with a concreted jumble of stone built raised beds and cracked paving. Built on a difficult sloping corner plot, this sizeable space is hard to access. Over time we’ve added trees and enduring species to the banks beyond reach, as well as two pergola, a small wildflower meadow and a pond. It has transformed in time, with planting thriving and making a much loved sanctuary of this varied, wrap-around space.
A bespoke pergola across the angled corner of the garden makes a semi-shaded dining area.

Wildflower planting alongside more structured planting creates a lush, diverse front garden.

We used reclaimed red brick to create defined planting for trees and shrubs.
We built a wall which opened up the garden, originally bordered with patio-built planters. Coloured foliage looks great against this contrasting backdrop.
Much of the planting is in pots so the garden is versatile, and be easily refreshed with new planting.
Pictorial Meadows' wildflower turf blooms late spring till early autumn and is abuzz in the summer months.
