A fresh lease of life
Having survived family life for over a decade, the decking here was ready to give up, and the space needed a whole new life for grown up use. Removing artificial turf, rotten decking and broken paving we designed a calm, welcoming space with neat, hidden storage to keep it orderly and beautiful. A blend of small and large limestone stonework brings dynamism to the paths and paved areas, and a bench area next to the old Victorian wall gives us a destination. A custom Corten planter and some stunning acers add rich colour to this simple, smart space.

Corten planters and red acers add rich rusty colours to the palette.

Little pathways connect paving and use the varied limestone to create flow.

Small paving creates detail for the dining area near the house.

The garden now behaves like a continuation of the kitchen dining area.

The unused garden, astroturf lawn and old decking was space so full of potential - it was great to see it come back to life.
